The Teenage Spirit in Modern Society
Postmodernism is often seen as complex and hard to understand. Similarly, teenage spirit—full of rebellion, self-discovery, and rule-breaking—is often misunderstood. Both challenges norms in different ways, and I wanted to explore the connection between them in this project.
This installation uses teenage rebellion as a metaphor for postmodernism, transforming a research paper into a toilet roll to critique rigid academic structures. Set in a bathroom—where teenagers rebel and self-discover—it features distorted posters of adults acting like teens, exaggerating the clash between individual expression and societal expectations. By blending humor, irony, and unconventional storytelling, this project makes postmodernism more tangible, accessible, and relatable.
